Creature Basket

Random Idea which came into my mind XD
Ok guys, yes, I happen to have friends who are into the popular anime 'Fruits Basket' So I got the idea of MD cosplaying Tohru (the main character)....and then it lead to THIS XDDDDD

Now, I haven't really watched Fruba (short for Fruits Basket) but I did see bits of it online (as well as getting some info from my friends about the characters- mainly the Sohma family).
If you don't know what this anime is about, its about a sweet and kind Orphan girl (Tohru) who gets adopted (for housekeeping) into a family who happens to be cursed- and by cursed, I mean, whenever they embrace someone of the opposite gender, they turn into the animal which is thier chinese zodiac sign.

So here is Miss Melanie Dirge as Tohru, the sweet, optimistic and kind girl (although MD isn't exactly the most optimistic - she has her mood swings/problems and can make stupid mistakes at times she's just a sweet girl in general. However, she does have something else in common with Tohru other than her kindness- her creativity (MD is skilled at sewing and decorating, Tohru is good at cooking.)

I chose several creatures who Miss Dirge knows to be certain member of the Sohma family in animal form I'm aware thier personalities don't always match the character 100%, but hey, at least they look great

Ashley as Yuki Sohma, the family member who is the rat in the chinese zodiac. I chose Ashley to be Yuki because Yuki is the charming gentleman and 'prince' of the Sohma family. Despite that, he has his insecure and shy moments. I also thought it was very fitting because vampires are known to turn into rodents as well as bats

Thatch of Scare School as Kyo Sohma, who was cursed to be the 'cat' of the zodiac (the 13th and unofficial sign). Kyo is the grumpy 'bad boy' of the family and often rivals with Yuki for a lot of things- including Tohru's heart, a reason why I chose Thatch to be Kyo XDD HOWEVER *SPOILERS* I know from my friends that in the anime and manga Tohru chooses to be with Kyo, but *end spoilers* this is just a cosplay and of course, Miss Dirge will always choose Ashley over Thatch despite her little soft spot for Thatch.

Klot of School for Vampires as Momiji, who is cursed to be the rabbit. I always thought Klot would make a very cute Momiji, from his dress sense to his cute 'little boy' nature

Lyle as Shigure, who is cursed to be the dog. Lyle is one of Miss Dirge's older friends in her hometown of Duskville. Since Lyle is an anthro wolf, I've decided to make him look more 'domestic dog'-ish. I thought of all wolf based characters MD is friends with (were and non-were), Lyle would be the best since he has a cheeky sense of humor and is VERY outgoing.

Slither as Ayame, who is cursed to be the snake. Seriously, I saw Ayame's human form and BOY he'd make the perfect character for Slither to cosplay, down to the fact he represents the snake XDDDD. both Ayame and Slither are very charming snake-based characters Ok, ok, Ayame is actually a lot more flamboyant and outgoing that Slither, who is more gloomy and serious. HOWEVER, Slither DOES have traits associated with the zodiac sign of the snake - he is mysterious, charming and not always open to others.
But there is one thing other than charm that Slither possesses that Ayame has- mischief (he is Thatch's friend after all )

Jet as Kisa, who represents the tiger. I know its odd that a mermaid can be a tiger, but both are very beautiful creatures. Plus Jet makes a great Kisa because they are both adorable, shy and very sweet
